Contrary to every surmise and expectation, Harvey's Bridge has been reopened!

If you are coming from Unionville, you may consider the route over Harvey's Bridge as an alternative to following 162 to Stargazers Road.

Harvey's Bridge has been closed for resurfacing.  Consequently, once again, the only access to Wheatland Drive and Stargazers Vineyard is down Youngs from Stargazers Road to Laurel Rd. You will see a "Road Closed Ahead" sign as you turn right onto Laurel, but fear not, the road is open to Wheatland Drive. You will also see "Laurel Road Detour" signs. I have no idea what PENNDOT is trying to indicate by those signs. Please ignore them.

To all you GPS aficionados out there: Do not under any circumstances attempt to come via Harveys Bridge Road.

Soon we will be seeing buds like these in the vineyard signaling the start of a new growing season.

On May 2 the West Chester Growers Market opens its season and we will be there that day and every first and third Saturday until November. The Market is open from 9 am to 1 pm from May through November. The Market is located at the corner of North Church and West Chestnut Streets in downtown West Chester, PA.

We will be introducing new wines throughout the season. Hope to see you there!

It was good to see all those who came to celebrate the first wine of the vintage on November 22. Dornfelder was in top form for this event. We have a couple of cases of the Dornfelder Nouveau 2014 left if you missed out or wish more.

The winery tasting room will be open for tastings and sales regular hours noon to five December 27 & 28, and by appointment right up to the afternoon of December 31 so you can do your last minute shopping for Sparkling Wine to toast the arrival of 2015. The 2014 Nouveau would make an excellent choice for the New Years Eve buffet table!

As in past years the winery tasting room will close for the month of January.

As this year draws to a close, we thank all of our customers for their support in 2014!

250 years ago Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon teamed up to layout the Mason-Dixon Line. 31 miles west of Philadelphia stands the Harlan House (shown below) where, in 1763,  Mason and Dixon began measuring due south to set the new line for the border with Maryland. They determined latitude and longitude from the stars, progressing from PA to Delaware and then to Maryland to run the line.

Come celebrate these famous Star Gazers with a Rendezvous with Mason & Dixon at Stargazers Vineyard August 16 starting at 7 pm. Please join us for a relaxing evening with great food, wine and conversation in the beautiful Chester County countryside.

Due to road closings caused by the recent storm, the Vineyard has become virtually inaccessible. Please postpone your visit this weekend. Hopefully the roads will be reopened next week.
