The Harvest Wine Dinner at Catherine's last Thursday evening was incredible.

It consisted of a 6 course meal, each course paired with a 2oz glass of wine from one of the Brandywine valley wineries.

The evening consisted of lots of oooo's and mmmm's as people tasted the food and sipped the wine.

I've often heard it said on Top Chef "it was like a party in my mouth" and now I know what they mean.

The $75 per person pice tag may have seemed expensive to some but for such good food, wine and a lovely relaxing atmosphere it was exceptional value for money.

The evening was also nicely paced so that the whole food and wine experience could be fully enjoyed and John from Stargazers and Lance from Black Walnut helped set the pace and mood by describing each pairing with great knowledge and humor.

Catherine's was the perfect place for the event and I look forward to the next one, I hope it's sometime soon.

On the first Saturday of each month we will have artisan cheese available to sample and purchase from God's Country Creamery.

You will be able to sample cheese, purchase a sampler plate ($4-ish depending on the samples), or purchase a chunk of your favorite cheese to savour with a wine tasting, glass or bottle of wine.

Feel free to stay a while, we have plenty of tables and chairs, and enjoy a relaxing picnic in the great outdoors and even if it's raining you can sit under the cover of our press pad and still enjoy the view, play cards or just chat!

And don't forget to purchase some extra wine and cheese to take home to share with family and friends.
